Headache & Migraine Relief at Serpentine Jarrahdale Chiropractic Clinic
Headaches come in various forms: throbbing pain; dull ache; sudden pain or “brain freeze” after eating ice cream, etc. They are the most commonly experienced type of pain worldwide and can range from mildly uncomfortable to debilitating.
This common type of discomfort often causes absenteeism from school or work. Those who experience frequent headaches may find that their mental health is impacted, in the form of anxiety or depression.
How We May Help
For headaches and migraines that are not related to other medical conditions, chiropractic care may be an effective care option. Based on your consultation and examination, Dr Melinda will create a care plan to help alleviate your pain and address the underlying cause of the problem. In addition to chiropractic adjustments, this may include dry needling and cranial release therapy.
All therapies are included in your normal chiropractic appointment, so you don’t have to make a separate trip or pay an additional fee.
- Dry Needling: Using needles similar to acupuncture needles, dry needling helps to release tension in muscles that may contribute to your pain. Dr Melinda is certified in dry needling that can be used on the head, face and neck. The needles are placed around the base of the skull and neck to ease pain.
- Cranial Release Therapy: Dr Melinda is certified in this specialised form of massage that focuses on the head, scalp and face to release tension in the fascia that often contributes to headache and migraine symptoms.
